Recent rain a relief for the trees

Yesterday’s rain was a welcome break from the hot, dry weather we have been experiencing. Droughts cause a lot of stress on trees leaving them more vulnerable to pests and diseases. An example of this are the juniper trees like this one located just outside of Young’s Point. The bright orange you see are the fruiting bodies of a fungal disease called cedar apple rust.
