Groundworker

The groundworker will support the crew from the ground to perform all tree care services offered by Logan Tree Experts This individual is a key member of the team and is relied upon to complete projects safely and efficiently. The successful candidate is a reliable, hardworking, analytical thinker who can perform physically demanding work in all types of weather conditions. We are looking for an extremely keen and safety-conscious person to fill this position who has an interest in the Arboriculture Industry and wants to learn more!
Groundworker Qualifications:
- Formal arboriculture training from a recognized college or university (asset)
- Chainsaw training or certification (asset)
- Class G license and clean driver abstract
- First Aid/CPR (asset)
- Knowledge of industry rules and regulations (asset)
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform physically demanding, manual labour in a variety of weather conditions.
- Safely perform ground support operations such as, but not limited to, chainsaw operation, brush management, and chipping.
- Perform rigging techniques to manage wood material.
- Operate and maintain chainsaws, chippers, stump grinder, and other equipment.
- Perform worksite cleanup.
- Carry out all duties safely and efficiently while following industry standards and company standard operating procedures.
- Able to communicate clearly and concisely with clients, co-workers, and management.
- Able to help create and maintain a positive and productive team environment and culture.
- Capable of receiving direction and feedback from supervisors and management.
- Able to arrive on time with a professional appearance, positive attitude, and eagerness to work.
- Complete all necessary paperwork (timesheets, project logs, project risk assessment forms) accurately and on time.
Hours: 40-44 hours/week (Depending on weather and season)
Wage: Starting wage based on skill level, experience, and qualifications. $19-$22/hr.
